This large cottonwood tree stood at the corner of Union , Adams, Taylor,
and Ringgold Counties. It was said to have been a surveyor’s stake that
took root. The tree was removed on the seventies when Highway 25 was
repaved.
The ruble left from the Blair Hotel fire, July 16, 1913. Photo taken from just
east of the depot and looking northeast. Pine street shown on the right.
The Palace was built at the fair grounds north of Creston in the area of the
present high school.
