Union County Home Base Iowa Veterans Support Fund Program – The Union County Home Base Iowa (UCHBI) Taskforce has created the Veterans Support Fund to assist veterans who have secured employment in Union County as of July 1st 2014. The taskforce has gained support from both public and private sectors for the purpose of supporting veterans as they seek employment after active duty. The fund will be used to offset expenses for returning and relocating veterans.
The Union County Home Base Iowa Taskforce has created the following guidelines to indicate qualifications for the Veterans Support Fund:
Union County Home Base Iowa Businesses will take the lead in providing information to the UCHBI Taskforce on potential applicants. Veterans will have up to one year after hire to apply to the Veterans Support Fund.
The following items are eligible uses of the fund.
Each veteran is eligible for a maximum of $2,000.00 to assist with relocation purposes.
In addition to the incentives above the following services are also available to veterans.

The SICOG HTF Military Home Assistance Program provides eligible service members and veterans with a $5,000 grant that may be used toward entry cost assistance i.e., closing cost assistance on a qualifying home purchase. Eligible service member may access the SICOG HTF Military Home Assistance Program to be used with a qualifying mortgage or cash purchase transaction.
